Situational Leadership II COURSE DESCRIPTION

The purpose of this workshop is to support managers and supervisors in becoming more effective and influential in leading individuals and groups. This experiential workshop is designed to create a safe environment for the participants to practice and receive coaching on varying Leadership Style to match the situation. You will find that your effectiveness in managing people, time and resources will increase. You will be able to respond to the many different personnel needs and situations in the most appropriate manner.

PRE-COURSE WORK

Participants receive forms to be completed by subordinates, associates, and management, that define how their leadership style is perceived by others. Computer scoring by Blanchard Training & Development will be available for class.

  • Determining Your Leadership Style – Leadership style is defined & you will learn why different leadership styles are used.
  • Flexibility – You will learn how an effective leader uses Directing, Coaching, Supporting and Delegating.
  • Diagnosis – You will learn how to diagnose the commitment and competence of the people you manage and match the appropriate leadership style to the development level of each person you manage.
  • Contracting for Leadership Style – You will learn how to manage expectations and reach agreement with the people you manage and the appropriate leadership style.
